2011 Report The third annual Global Milonga on Dec. 11, 2011 took place in 12 cities and 5 countries, and lasted for 13 hours. Together, 584 tango dancers gave US $5,946, or 64,660 trees back to the earth. The 2011 Global Milonga funds were allocated to projects in Colombia, where a new initiative is addressing the unsustainable harvesting of trees due to a dire economic situation. Our partner Trees for the Future offers agroforestry training to hundreds of local farmers, starts community nurseries, and distributes seeds and seedlings. Read more about the work in Colombia
