2010 Report The second annual Global Milonga on Dec. 11, 2010 took place in 15 cities and 6 countries, and lasted for 14 hours. Together, 1256 tango dancers raised the equivalent of US $8567, or 85,668 trees. The 2010 Global Milonga funds were allocated to projects in Haiti, where less than 2% of the country's original forests remain. Our partner Trees for the Future works with local farmers and farming groups, planting trees to reforest degraded hillsides, produce sustainable charcoal and fuel wood, construction materials, food, produce biodiesel, and establish intensive hillside farming practices.
